The Charlotte John

You, in the blue.

As previously stated, I utterly destest blogging about politics, religion, etc... I think people get way to wrapped up in that shit and often find themselves defending things that they don't even believe nor practice. Listening to people bicker about politics is my hell. I can't get far away enough from that shit. Today, however, I am compelled to write about it, briefly. Many of you read that the Occupy Movement in Charlotte was shutdown by local police enforcement today. If not, you can read about it here. In the past, I have paid very little attention to them, although I pass by their encampment nearly everyday on my daily walks. Read More to Continue.

Be honest...how many of you watched last night's State of the Union address? Probably not many. I swore this would never be a political, religious, or intellectual blog...so fear not. I truly don't give a damn what your thoughts are. I mention the State of the Union address purely because President Obama mentioned the city of Charlotte about three times throughout his speech. Perhaps he was pandering to the future site of the Democratic National Convention, but even still, it is a good thing whenever your city gets a shout-out by the leader of the free world. If you missed the address, you can find a full recap here (full transcript included). Again, I'm not pushing any politcal view-points on you...just thought you'd like to hear Charlotte get some love. Enjoy.

Roy Williams is a pussy and a liar. Need proof? Read this. Once you've read it, what I write will make more sense. Anyways, Williams knew full well those five players were still on the court and lied to the media when he said that he left them out in "error". His team, the Tarheels, were getting prison-pounded by FSU and Williams was to big of a pussy to see the damn game through. The game isn't over until it is fucking over Roy. Don't fucking tell people you 'apologized' to the players you abandoned. Those players know full well that they were sacrificial lambs. Roy Williams is an embarrassment to the State of North Carolina.

Okay, so many of you have read about the woman who was murdered near the Flying Biscuit Cafe over the weekend? No? Well allow me to fill you in. First off, I will preface this whole thing by saying this story creeps me out because I've frequented the Flying Biscuit a few times and it's with relative certainty that I write that I've seen this woman before. Many of you have seen this I imagine, but for those of you that haven't...here you go. Behold, the Honey Badger.

The Breakfast Club...not just a shitty movie, but also a bar in Uptown Charlotte. I swung into the establishment over this past weekend to see what was going on. The answer? Not a hell of a whole lot. When I arrived, I was one of four people there. Two of those people were employees. I was told by one of the bartenders that they start to "pick up" around midnight. Unfortunately for them, I wouldn't be able to talk myself into staying that long. Read More to Continue.

I decided I'd support the NBA by purchasing a ticket to the Bobcats game last Friday night. Typically I'm not a fan of businesses that pay a minimum of $490,180.00 to people that have zero years of service...not to mention an untold amount of felonies on their record before they hit puberty. Alas, I decided to shell out some bucks to watch one of the worst teams in the league play the Atlanta Hawks. Read More to Continue.

Ah yes, 2012 is upon us. I will gladly share with you what I did to ring in the New Year...but first I'd like to share the first video of 2012. Below is why I think there are no good years left in my lifetime. Enjoy.
