I wish Uptown Charlotte had more places open for business around 5:30am. More specifically, I wish it had more breakfast joints opened. If you're like me, and hate people, then 5:30am is the ideal time to get out and get shit done. First thing on my list is usually to eat. The Midnight Diner is open 24hrs but it is to far of a walk for me every morning. Dunkin Donuts opens at 6am, but they have shitty chicken biscuits. I regularly go to Showmars in the Hearst Tower, but that gets old. This morning I drove about two minutes down 3rd St. to the Bojangles. Being that they open at 5am and have amazing iced tea, this place will probably become a more regular stop for me. I just hate having to drive. Anyways, I'm relatively sure I'll spend many hours in front of the TV this morning watching Wimbledon. Those nicely manicured lawns speak to my soul...I don't care much for the tennis though.
