Well, hello. Miss me? I bet you did. I haven't written for a while purely because I haven't really wanted to. I can't really offer up any better reason than that. I usually get burned-out once or twice a year from posting shit. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy writing and all...but sometimes I just need a break. You can't understand that, can't you ya fucker? Good, I appreciate it. Anyways, a lot has transpired since I last wrote. Read More to Continue.
First off, I had a few people write me asking if I got arrested, died, etc... The answer to all your questions is "no". Nothing changed in my life that made me stop writing, okay?
In recent news, the VUE condo tower was sold at auction. People are speculating that the condos will be converted into apartments. There is no need to speculate...this will happen. I have never owned a property nor will I ever. The thought of owning a residence has always seemed idiotic to me. Why burden yourself with that shit? I hear people explaining to me all the time about how it is such a great way to build wealth. How's that working out for you? You know all that money that I would of spent on a house...yea, well I still have that.
The VUE is an awesome building and I love the aesthetics it provides to the city. I may even consider renting a unit once the building is converted. I'm glad all the bullshit litigation is behind the building personally. I wouldn't mind seeing some lights on inside the joint once the sun sets.
In other news, Uptown is growing ever closer to building a new baseball stadium for the Knights. I have long said this would happen and I am actually surprised it has taken so long. With a baseball stadium in Uptown, I feel the city would be complete. The revenue that place is going to generate will be ridiculous.
Speaking of bringing things into Uptown, there are now two pretty decent BBQ joints in Uptown. I visited them both recently and have an opinion on which one deserves your money. First there's Queen City Q just off 6th St. I really enjoyed this place, I can't lie. I think it is very similar to Mac's on South Blvd. The portions are substantial and the sides are killer. I personally went with the mac 'n cheese, and green bean casserole. The place itself is spacious and the service is good. Then there's City Smoke. I'm not a huge fan of this joint, mainly because of the food. The portions are very small and the BBQ just isn't that good. My pork was very soggy. My toast was stale and tasteless. The joint itself feels clustered. If I had to choose, I'd send you to Queen City Q every single time.
I'll right more in a bit, but for now I need to go grab some beers.
